Contemporary remodelling and extension of 1970’s house

The clients had recently purchased and moved into a dated 1970’s house.  Their requirement was to immediately extend the kitchen and dining room into the garden to provide an easily managed family area which would seamlessly open into the garden, whilst at the same time converting half of the double garage into a study.

In a second phase they wanted to extend and improve the accommodation at first floor level over the existing garage. The clients wanted the general look of the house to be updated so it was recommended that the extensions should be sympathetic to the forms of the housing style, whilst being contemporary in its use of materials. Vertically fixed cedar cladding over the extensions, and replacing the areas currently hung with tiles.

The project has achieved planning permission and is currently in the final stages of fit out.
